Driving Thru... the Countryside?

Countryside-6.jpg

Ok guys, full transparency… this post was supposed to go up on May 6 but it’s been a weird month, amidst the overall weirdness of Spring 2020 as a whole.

In all honesty, my productivity has been fleeting as of late. One day I wake up and I accomplish my entire list of tasks that I set for the but then the next 3, I struggle to have the desire to do anything else but sit in bed and binge Avatar (for the 100th time). Coming into this quarantine, I fully expected to be able to handle this forced solitude well being that solitude might as well have been my middle name for the greater part of my 29 years in this lifetime. Turns out, the choice of solitude is much more appealing than the solitude itself, who knew lol.

One thing I’ve been doing to maintain a sense of clarity - yes this post is just about ONE THING - has been to take long drives with a loose destination in mind. On this particular day, I chose to drive out to SugarLoaf mountain using nothing but backroads and I must say, I was more than pleased with what I stumbled upon. I lightheartedly joked that this mild journey was an attempt to regain some kind of control back over my life but in reality, that’s exactly what it was. Driving along the hills of rural Maryland, through paths that I had never taken was peaceful and serene, to say the least. I started out listening to a playlist that I crafted and ended up riding in silence after the playlist came to completion about halfway through the trip.

i almost didn’t realize how much I missed nature while being in the house making attempts at productivity during a global pandemic but I truly did. Taking these few photos of these animals, I felt as if I was communicating without them through energy as they struck poses for me on demand. Come to find out, I was “on someone’s property” while taking these so the energy exchange was short-lived lol but I’m the moment, I felt what I haven’t felt in months - re-connected to the universe.

I do have more content on the way, for those that are looking forward to it and some new ideas that I will be testing out as well. Stay tuned 🤞🏾
