NSFW : Going Nude

If we look at art that exists in our most famous museums, one thing that remains consistent throughout the time periods has been the use of nudity. From the ancient Roman pieces, to those honoring the magnitude of the mythological gods & goddesses, to paintings and all of the sort, nudity is used to depict a sense of purity. Nudity is also often used to portray a blank canvas, one that clothes usually distract from. But it is always interesting to me that the immediate connotation of nudity in photography is one perceived to be synonymous with pornography. And for a person that has been exposed to the sculptures and paintings of old, it is frustrating that as photographers, we are not allowed the same sense of expression.

One of my many goals, outside of elevating the characters that society mostly perceives to be an underdog, is to show the world that our bodies are pieces of art in motion; each one being designed with such intricate precision. My love for the human body in general and the woman's body in specific can be seen throughout my catalog. I only hope to continue this journey, to explore this canvas much deeper and to shift the societal norms.
