Live from The Dojo
I wish I could claim credit for the space that The Dojo creates for creatives but I honestly have nothing to do with it. All credit to the allure of the homie Dayo (@thearthype).
My first time arriving, the homie Dayo invited me through for a project that he curated called Moon Melanin. My experience was limited, as a result, because I was only in the studio for an hour solely to support the conceit. Many months later, he invited me back for simple conversation about content, creativity & elevating my craft. As soon as I arrived I was met by a group of creatives all building, creating and sharing stories of their journeys so far in their own crafts.
Having experienced this in more concentrated moments prior, I was in a very comfortable zone of artistic vulnerability. What I didn’t expect was for more artists, of more mediums to arrive as the day continued. What would have normally been an hour or 2 experience, turned into a 6 hour vibe with a plethora of photographers, models, tv stars and creatives of a variety of mediums.
Since that moment, The Dojo has become a meeting ground of creatives to learn, to release, to express and to connect.
